Hungary’s Minister of Interior Dr. Sándor Pintér received the Republic of Korea’s Ambassador to Budapest, Mr. Cho Kyu-Sik in his office on 30 May 2019.

The Minister of Interior expressed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased Korean citizens, following which he provided a detailed report on the already known circumstances of the boat accident that occurred on 29 May 2019, the measures taken by the authorities and the search and rescue process.

Ambassador Cho Kyu-Sik indicated that 27 divers will be arriving in Budapest from the Republic of Korea to assist the search activities of the Hungarian authorities. Minister Sándor Pintér thanked the Ambassador and asked for the assistance of the Republic of Korea in identifying the victims.

The Korean Ambassador received first-hand information concerning the ongoing search and rescue activities at the National Emergency Management Centre.
