Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér received the Republic of Korea’s Ambassador to Hungary Choe Kyoo-Sik on Thursday, the Ministry said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI.
According to the statement, Mr. Pintér expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of Wednesday’s Danube ship accident, after which he provided detailed information on the circumstances of the tragedy, the measures taken by the authorities and the search and rescue process.
The Korean Ambassador also acquired first-hand information relating to the ongoing search and rescue activities at the National Emergency Management Centre. According to the statement, Ambassador Choe Kyoo-Sik said 27 divers from the Republic of Korea will be arriving in Budapest to assist the Hungarian authorities with their search activities, with relation to which the Minster of Interior expressed his thanks, and asked for the assistance of the Republic of Korea to help identify the victims.
