In an interview on ATV Television’s morning programme on Tuesday, Parliamentary State Minister at the Ministry of Human Capacities Bence Rétvári said that the Klebelsberg centre for the state administration of schools (KLIK) will be entirely dissolved by the summer.

According to the ATV report, Mr. Rétvári said that in the spring session Parliament will draft legislation for the setting up of a new, less centralised system by September. He said that there are genuine problems in the educational system, such as the operation of KLIK and excessive burdens on students. He said that “we accept some of the criticism from the profession”, adding that those regulations which have been justifiably criticised must be amended.

The news portal reminded its readers that teachers have been protesting for changes in the educational system and against KLIK.

At a press conference in early February, Minister for Human Capacities Zoltán Balog announced that State Minister for Schools Judit Czunyiné Bertalan will be replaced by State Minister for Higher Education László Palkovics. At the end of February Gáborné Pölöskei was appointed the new leader of KLIK.
