Minister of Human Capacities Zoltán Balog will attend the official event organised to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland on Tuesday, in representation of President of the Republic János Áder.
Other members of the delegation include the Ministry of Human Capacities’ Deputy State Secretary for International and European Union Affairs Gergely Prőhle and Deputy State Secretary for Higher Education Zoltán Maruzsa.
Minister Balog will hold several bilateral meetings during his visit to Poland. On Monday, he will meet with Evangelical Bishop Jerzy Samiec and Bishop of the Reformed Church Marek Izdebski, after which he will hold discussions with Minister for Social Affairs and Labour Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz. Later, he will have a meeting with Minister of Science and Higher Education Lena Kolarska-Bobinska, after which he will hold a lecture at the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM). Following the lecture, Minister Balog will meet with Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, Catholic Archbishop of Warsaw.
On Tuesday, Minister Balog will meet with Archbishop of Krakkow, Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, following which he will visit the International Culture Centre and attend a working lunch with Minister of Culture Malgorzata Omilanowska.
