During the Hungarian-Serbian government summit Parliamentary State Secretary at the Ministry of Human Capacities Bence Rétvári held talks with Serbian Minister for Demography and Population Slavica Đukić-Dejanović, Minister for Culture and Media Vladan Vukosavljević and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mladen Šarčević.
At the meeting on Friday, both sides stressed that the situation and support of families is paramount while another critical issue is to reverse negative demographic trends. Minister for Demography and Population Slavica Đukić-Dejanović said that they would like to have more information on the Hungarian family support system in order to tailor their own initiatives accordingly.
Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mladen Šarčević inquired about the Hungarian system of university chancellors as Serbia plans to introduce a similar system.
The talks with Minister for Culture and Media Vladan Vukosavljević included Novi Sad being the European Capital of Youth in 2019 and European Capital of Culture in 2021 which will have a significant impact not only on Serbian culture, but that of the entire region. They also discussed the advancement in erecting a statue of János Hunyadi in Belgrade.
