Although the embargo imposed by Russia on 6 August 2014 had a negative impact on the Hungarian agricultural export sector, Hungarian-Russian economic relations do not stagnate; in fact, despite the embargo, a number of high-value joint investments have been realized - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade told national news agency MTI on Tuesday.

Since 1 September 2014, Hungarian companies have contributed to developments and investments in Russia that jointly amounted to over EUR 100 million.
