The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade was shocked to learn about the bombing committed against a bus carrying members of the Presidential Guard in downtown Tunis in the evening of Tuesday, 23 November, which left 13 people dead and more than 20 injured. We profoundly condemn this horrible terrorist attack resulting in this tragedy, which cannot be justified.

In recent years the Tunisian people have achieved outstanding international respect for their success in building the foundations of a pluralistic and democratic society, giving Tunisia an important role in regional stability. We believe that this terrorist attack will further strengthen the determination of the Tunisian people to continue building their exemplary political model.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade would like to offer its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased.
