The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary was appalled and deeply shocked by a video released by the Islamic State on 19 April 2015 showing the brutal murder of 28 Ethiopian Christians working in Libya.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary was shocked by the death of innocent Christians and it wishes to express its sympathy to the families of the victims in their grief. Hungary strongly condemns all forms of terrorism and ethnic, racial or religious violence of all kinds.

The brutal acts committed by members of the Islamic State are by no means justifiable by any religious or ideological teachings, and they contradict fundamental religious and human values. Hungary strongly believes that the attacks against Christians in Africa or anywhere else in the world can only be prevented with international cooperation.

To express our solidarity and to share the responsibility in the fight against terrorism, Hungary has pledged to support the joint military action against the Islamic State in order to stop the activities of the terrorist group.
