The Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is keeping in constant touch with the Dutch authorities in connection with the downed Malaysian passenger plane in Ukraine, the ministry's spokeswoman Anna Nagy stated on Friday.

The Dutch authorities are continuing to check the plane's passenger list to verify identities, she said. Some passengers have not yet been identified, and the authorities would only make a final statement once all passengers have been accounted for, she added. Hungary's embassy in The Hague stated that the Dutch foreign ministry had no information about any Hungarian passengers travelling on the plane.

The Hungarian ministry issued a statement on Thursday in which it urged an investigation by an independent international body into the circumstances of the plane crash and offered its deepest condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives in the disaster.
