“Singapore company Patec is realising another investment in Miskolc. This means new workplaces, and will also be reinforcing the Hungarian automotive industry supply sector”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on is Facebook page on Wednesday.

Posting from Singapore, Mr. Szijjártó said Patec is already operating in Miskolc, and fundamentally manufactures equipment for windscreen wipers. “This automotive industry supplier will now be realising a 1.7-billion-forint (EUR 4.7 million) investment project in Miskolc, towards which it will be receiving half a billion forints (EUR 1.38 million) in state funding. The project will be creating 71 new workplaces”, he emphasised. “This will not only be increasing the automotive industry supplier’s capacity, but represents the first phase in the production and development of industrial robots”, he added.

The Minister also said that the enterprise is one of the largest company groups in Singapore, which is also active within the defence industry, and is in advanced negotiations with Hungarian automotive group Rába. “The negotiations concern the fact that Rába may be manufacturing undercarriages for the vehicles produced by the Singapore defence industry company. Furthermore, negotiations are also ongoing with relation to the company bringing the complete production of military vehicles to Hungary in a joint venture with Rába”, Mr. Szijjártó explained.
