The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade condemns the terrorist attack in Istanbul in the strongest possible terms. According to a statement by the Ministry’s Press Chief, the security of the European Union begins with the stability of Turkey, and accordingly all attacks of this kind also constitute an attack against the European Union.
In a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Sunday, Tamás Menczer wrote: “We send our condolences to the grieving and wish the injured a speedy recovery; we also express our assurances to Turkey that Hungary is standing shoulder to shoulder with Turkey in the fight against terrorism”.
It is clear that the fight against terrorist organisations must be continued and that no differentiation should be made between them, the Ministry’s Chief Press Officer added.
Two explosions occurred at a football stadium in Istanbul on Saturday evening killing at least 29 people and injuring 166.
