Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó will give an address at the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly and will also conduct bilateral meetings with international colleagues and business representatives. He will reopen the Consulate General of Hungary in Chicago as well.
In addition to attending the multilateral forum, Mr. Szijjártó will also have a meeting with UN Deputy Secretary-Generals, Jeffrey Feltman and Jan Eliasson, as well as with the foreign ministers of Canada, Andorra, Kyrgyzstan, Tunisia, Ivory Coast and Former Governor of New York George Pataki.
The meeting of foreign ministers of the twenty-eight EU Member States and the Leaders’ Summit on Countering ISIL and Violent Extremism will also take place as part of the UN programme. Both will be attended by Minister Szijjártó, who – as outgoing co-chairman – will also deliver a speech at the Conference on Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Article XIV Conference.
During his visit to the United States, the head of Hungarian diplomacy will reopen the General Consulate of Hungary in Chicago and will hold a meeting with Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel.
Mr. Szijjártó will also meet business representatives both in New York and in Chicago.
