“Four aeroplanes brought 4.9 million face masks, 2 million pairs of gloves, 193 pieces of protective clothing and 170 thousand test kits to Budapest via the China-Hungary airlift on Tuesday”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI.
Mr. Szijjártó said the protective equipment will be distributed to hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare institutions. “We must prepare for long-term protection against the coronavirus pandemic”, the Minister emphasised. “It is clear that this is a challenge that will be with us for a long time, and accordingly in the interests of successful healthcare protection we must continuously bring to Hungary the protective equipment that is required by doctors and nurses”, he added.
