It is not a fundamental human right for masses „to march through” safe countries, to violate the relevant international and national laws and to choose where they wish to live, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade responded on Saturday to the usual annual human rights report of the US Department of State.
The Human Rights Report of the US Department of State released on Friday claims in the context of Hungary that the most significant human rights problem remains the Government’s handling of migrants and asylum seekers seeking to transit the country. At the same time, the report also mentioned corruption among the prevalent problems.
The Foreign Ministry’s reply – sent to the Hungarian news agency MTI – reads that, by contrast to the old staff of the US Department of State which still cherishes Democrat sentiments, the Hungarian Government agrees with President Donald Trump regarding his stance on illegal immigration, and regards the security and safety of the Hungarian people as the top priority.
They stressed that not a single illegal immigrant will be let into Hungary before their application is fully assessed.
As they wrote in their reply, objective facts demonstrate that the accusations of corruption which lack all factual grounds are unfounded as the Hungarian economy has been gaining in strength for years, wages are on the increase, the sovereign debt is on the decrease, and the deficit of the budget is below 3 per cent.
The Hungarian people voted in favour of the Orbán Government twice with a large majority, and 3.3 million people said no to illegal immigration in a democratic referendum. Everyone must respect the decisions of the Hungarian people, they added.
