Hungary welcomes the political agreement to set up a national unity government in Libya, which could be instrumental in resolving the situation in that country, the Hungarian foreign ministry said in a statement on Friday.

Hungary's fully support in efforts to set up a national unity government. "Thursday's agreement could pave the way for reconciliation and prosperity for the Libyan people," the statement added.

The foreign ministry also encouraged Libyan forces that boycotted the agreement to support its implementation. A national unity government could also contribute to promote security and stability in the whole region, it said.
The UN-brokered agreement negotiated for over a year was signed in Morocco by deputies of the two parliaments of Libya.
