“If the negotiation mandate given to the European Commission by the European Council is fulfilled, the results will be beneficial for Hungary”, the Minister declared at the event titled Challenges of the Hungarian foreign policy in 2015.

“The fewer trade barriers and bureaucratic burdens there are, the more successful we can be”, he said. At the same time, he pointed out that no final statement can be made concerning the agreement.

As a result of a positive free trade agreement, Hungarian exports to the US may increase by 15-20 per cent and twenty to thirty thousand new jobs may be created, Mr. Szijjártó explained. He added that the other great task for this year is to utilise the resources of the European Fund for Strategic Investments worth EUR 315 billion in those areas, which are of utmost importance for Hungary: energy security and transport infrastructure.
