Deputy State Secretary Kristóf Altusz paid a visit to Ireland on the 23rd of April 2015.

In Dublin, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade he met with Political Director Barrie Robinson. The parties discussed the possibilities of deepening the bilateral political and economic co-operation, and exchanged views on international issues such as the conflict in Ukraine, the Eastern Partnership, EU enlargement, migration flows and the fight against the Islamic State.

Mr Altusz also met Ms Brenda Boylen, Head of the State Secretariat for Diaspora Affairs to exchange views on the Irish and Hungarian diaspora policies respectively and the situation of immigrant communities in Ireland.  Mr Altusz participated at a round table discussion with the representatives of the Irish-Hungarian-Business Association and Ken Belshaw, the Honorary Consul of Hungary in Belfast.

As a closing programme of his visit he delivered a greeting speech at a book launch that was organized by the Hungarian Embassy in Dublin and the Irish Phaeton Publishing on the occasion of publishing the bilingual edition of the work of József Eötvös from 1837 entitled „Poverty in Ireland”, and gave an interview to the Community Radio of Hungarians living in Dublin.
