On Tuesday, 28 February, Minister of Defence Dr. István Simicskó received Polish ambassador Jerzy Snopek on a courtesy call in Budapest. The ambassador presented his letter of credence to President of Hungary János Áder in November 2016.
The participants of the meeting reasserted the existing stable and outstanding relationship between Hungary and Poland, emphasizing that both countries are committed to the further meaningful development of bilateral relations, and also to the continuing successful and active cooperation in the framework of the Visegrád Group.
Minister of Defence Dr. István Simicskó underlined that Poland is one of Hungary’s most important strategic partners. Besides the fields of politics and economy, the relationship between the two countries in the field of defence cooperation is also active and exceptionally good.
Currently Poland holds the rotating V4 presidency until the summer of 2017, which will be followed by the Hungarian presidency.
