Hungary is hosting the Capable Logistician 2015 exercise, this year’s biggest trial of the logisticians of NATO member countries and partner nations, NATO commands and other countries involved in practical cooperation.
The objectives of the exercise are to standardize the logistic support of international forces by NATO principles, to establish procedures, to generate capabilities and to strengthen cooperation among partner countries. As the host nation of the exercise, Hungary is responsible for full-scale support and host nation support tasks – demonstrating the support capabilities of the Hungarian armed forces in this field – and also assumes a leading role in other functional areas such as the operation of logistic information systems.
The kick-off event of the Capable Logistician 2015 exercise is an operational and tactical-level command post exercise (CPX) which is being conducted with the participation of more than 100 Hungarian and foreign logisticians at the HDF Joint Force Command in Székesfehérvár between 26 and 30 January. Working under the leadership of V4 countries, their main task is to test, by NATO principles, the functioning of the Joint Logistic Support Element Command set up by the nations.
Between 8 and 19 June, a large international force will conduct an exercise based on crisis response operations in the area of Várpalota and Pápa, where the soldiers of 12 nations will demonstrate their capabilities of deployment in practice.
