The National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) has expanded MiniPolisz, an indoor entertainment park in Budapest’s city centre, with two new thematic areas. The Office is also involved in the interactive park’s experiential education programmes. The collaboration between the Office and the park enables children to learn about responsible pet ownership, the veterinary profession, food chain safety and even forest fire prevention.
“The favourable weather may result in a slightly higher corn output this year compared to last year, and may enable farmers to harvest roughly the same amount of sunflower seeds as last year”, Minister of State for Agriculture Zsolt Feldman from the Ministry of Agriculture (MA) explained.
“Hungary is committed to continuing the cooperation concluded with Laos on agricultural matters”, Minster of State for Agriculture Zsolt Feldman declared when he received a delegation from the southeast Asian country at the Ministry of Agriculture. Mr. Feldman highlighted that Hungary has launched the third tied aid programme in Laos.
“This year, the apple harvest is expected to amount to 730,000 tons, exceeding the ten-year average by around 25%. Approximately 25-30% of the harvest is eating apple and 70-75% is industrial apple”, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy said on Monday at the press conference to launch the apple consumption promotion campaign in Budapest.
“The project financed by the European Union, within the framework of which we are able to welcome Georgia’s Deputy Minister for Environmental Protection and Agriculture and his delegation, helps the exchange the experience with relation multi-purpose forest management that assures the harmonisation of economic, social and nature conservation requirements”, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sándor Farkas said upon receiving the Georgian experts.
“Technological modernisation and a change of mindset are not only essential for the future of agriculture, but are also being forced by changes in nature and agriculture”, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy said on Friday in Kalocsa.
“The poultry sector has suffered and survived many crises, but it may be facing difficulties again as EU agricultural subsidies are expected to decrease from 2021, making preparations necessary in this respect”, Minister of State Sándor Farkas from the Ministry of Agriculture said at the Goose Breeders’ Conference held at the 20th Kiskunfélegyháza Goose Festival.
In future, in case of a potential avian flu epidemic Japan will not impose restrictions on poultry products originating from all territories of Hungary, but only on products from the infected areas.
The 12th Game Culinary Festival, organized by Vadex Mezőföldi Erdő és Vadgazdaság Zrt. was held in Soponya. The gastronomic festival was opened by Minister of State for Land Affairs Márton Bitay.
“As Hungary can only hope to have a secure food supply if horticulture survives and develops, it is vital to develop industrial research and its professional background, to reinforce agricultural training, and to assure an appropriate number of highly qualified professionals”, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sándor Farkas explained in Szentes at the 7th Hungarian Paprika Day.
