The government has not made any kind of decision concerning the utilisation of funding during the European Union’s upcoming seven-year multiannual financial framework, mostly in view of the fact that there is no agreement on the 2021-2027 joint budget as yet, and the positions of the European Commission and member states remain far apart. As it has done to date, Budapest will continue to receive funding within the framework determined by the Brussels bureaucrats and according to the conditions they determine.
It is precisely Brussels that wants to take away the funding due to Hungary through the planned, unfair reduction of cohesion funding. According to Hungary’s position, it is unacceptable for richer member states to receive more from the joint budget to the detriment of the Central European countries.
