The Chinese company will reinforce its role in the development of the Hungarian infocommunications sector, the declaration of intent signed by Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics and Wu Biqiang, Chief Executive of Huawei Technologies Hungary on 1 July 2019 in Budapest reads.
The agreement entered into by and between the Ministry for Innovation and Technology and Huawei supplements the joint declaration adopted on 6 November 2018 in China with the identification of specific tasks. Based on the new document, Huawei wishes to play a more substantial role in the development of the Hungarian infocommunications sector.
Pursuant to the agreement, the company will continue the organisation of technology study trips to China for Hungarian university students, will launch Huawei engineer training programmes, and according to plans, with these they will intend to provide engineering skills for some 200 Hungarian youths in the next five years. The establishment in the near future of the company’s authorised information and network academy (HAINA) in Hungary will also support knowledge transfer.
“The declaration of intent could open up new opportunities in relations between Hungary and Huawei as our country’s best experts could take part in the Chinese company’s projects using and developing cutting-edge technologies. It is especially delightful that the company undertakes to train young people, the engineers and scientists of the future. We are proud that Huawei has been present on the Hungarian market for years, and together we will be able to achieve further significant results,” Mr Palkovics said.
Wu Biqiang, the head of the Hungarian subsidiary of Huawei Technologies said they greatly appreciate the long-term balanced business environment in Hungary, and therefore they believe it is important to foster Hungarian engineering talent and to develop the knowledge of Hungarian engineers.
In addition to the above, the agreement also lays down that Huawei wishes to take part in the development of the telecommunications infrastructure of the Hungarian railways, the development of intelligent health care services, and the development of smart cities.
