“We are providing a suitable response to the political attacks against Hungary”, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said.
At a press conference in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Government Spokesperson introduced the van with a billboard on it stating: “Hundreds have died in terrorist attacks since 2015, but Guy Verhofstadt says: ‘We don’t have a migration crisis’ (07.04.2018). This is insane!”
Mr. Kovács told the press that over the next few days the van will be visible in Hungary, and then also in Brussels.
In recent weeks, we have seen “the kind of attack that pro-immigration liberals have launched against Hungary”, as testified to in the European Parliament, and by Verhofstadt’s statements and the political message sent to us, he stressed.
He said that in his opinion these attacks cannot remain unanswered in view of the fact that they have just ne goal: “The liberals are clearly on the side of European immigration and want to turn Europe into an immigrant continent and Hungary into an immigrant country”.
According to Mr. Kovács, over the past three years the people of Hungary have stated on several occasions – at National Consultations, a referendum and the parliamentary elections – that they will not allow Hungary to become an immigrant country.
“We are providing a suitable response to the political attacks made against Hungary, and this van also sends a clear message with relation to what we think about migration and the liberals’ immigration policy”, he declared.
