Without any prior explanation, Twitter blocked ‘About Hungary,’ the official account of the Government of Hungary, the Minister of State for International Communication and Relations announced on Facebook on Wednesday.

Zoltán Kovács described this as a rather interesting development in light of the fact that the European Commission will publish its first rule of law report on Wednesday.

“It seems that a brave new world has indeed set in irreversibly in which absurd cases – such as that tech giants silence people who hold views that are different from those of liberal moaners – can happen,” he wrote.

He added that they have taken the necessary steps; they are awaiting an official reply and explanation from Twitter.
