On Thursday, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács told public television channel M1 that the presence of armed military police on duty in public areas is “now a necessary part of our lives” under the increased threat of terrorism that Europe has to face.
The Government Spokesperson also said that so far over one million Hungarian citizens have signed the petition against the mandatory resettlement quotas. He added that there is no other Government that has as much support from its citizens as the Government of Hungary. This is because it is in the vital interest of all Hungarians that similar decision cannot be made, because they make no sense, are dangerous and they “spread out the threat of terrorism”.
This was one of the reasons why the Government has launched its information campaign on the risks of the mandatory resettlement quotas, Mr. Kovács explained.
