According to the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister’s State Secretary for International Communications and Relations, the European People’s Party’s candidate for the post of European Commission President, Manfred Weber, is wrong: the CEU has not left Hungary.
Zoltán Kovács made the statement on Twitter on Friday in reaction to the fact that Manfred Weber said with relation to the university’s case that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán “has made some decisions that I cannot accept, and which we in the parliamentary group cannot accept”.
In the tweet, Mr. Kovács said: “The CEU has not left Hungary and will continue to operate in Budapest”.
“The EPP’s top candidate would do better to worry about the fact that the left-wing parties are in cahoots with the ‘xenophobic and anti-Semitic’ Jobbik party”, he added.
