The left-wing opposition is blocking the containment effort in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic by not having voted for the proposed anti-virus legislation in Parliament, Minister of State for International Communication and Relations Zoltán Kovács said in a video message sent to the Hungarian news agency MTI on Tuesday.
The Minister of State said this is contrary to “the command of cooperation under such circumstances” and in the case of some measures, such as the closure of borders, the regulations relating to the operating hours of nursery schools and creche facilities, and the ban on entry for individuals arriving from epicentres of the global pandemic, even the issue of expiry might arise.
The opposition is causing chaos by doing what it is doing because the measures that will now cease to have effect will have to be re-adopted, he added.
He stated that on Wednesday the government will deal with the situation which has now arisen, and will find a reassuring solution in the case of the measures concerned.
The government is asking for responsibility and cooperation because “this is a time for just that, not dissension,” Mr Kovács said.
