“Hungary’s competitiveness is party dependent on the digital industry”, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said on M1 Hungarian television’s Thursday evening current affairs program.
Hungary has a strong vocational training system, and accordingly the primary goal is for professionals to stay at home and contribute to “digital exports”, the Government Spokesperson highlighted.
One of the Government’s endeavours is to stop or slow down the trend according to which digital enterprises often leave the country, he added.
During his usual Thursday press conference, Mr. Kovács said: “There is extremely hard work going on in the background to ensure that the country remains competitive in this sector, and that it is also capable of gaining strength. He said it was important that Hungarian enterprises and start-ups receive as many opportunities as possible and noted that the Hungarian National Trading House is also providing assistance to enterprises.
Prime Ministerial Commissioner for the Digital Prosperity Programme Tamás Deutsch told reporters that this year’s CeBIT digital trade expo would be held on March 20-24 in Hannover this year and that Hungary would be represented in a more organised manner than ever before. The expo is expected to attract over 200 thousand visitors, with over 3000 enterprises from all over the world showcasing their innovations and services, including more than 500 start-ups. 21 Hungarian enterprises will be taking part in this year’s CeBIT.
