On Friday morning, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács told Kossuth Radio’s “180 Minutes” programme that the pragmatic and practical steps Hungary has been highlighting for two years are now central concepts in the European Union.
Mr. Kovács pointed out that nine of the elements in the Government of Hungary’s ten-point package of proposals have either been introduced in the EU, the process has been launched, or it is under consideration.
He added that currently tens or hundreds of thousands of people are on their way to the EU, and millions are prepared to set off.
The Government Spokesperson also told Hungarian television channel M1 that, through its proposal to amend legislation on the detention of migrants, the Government is seeking to prevent migrants abusing the regulation which in effect allows them freedom of movement if they submit their asylum request in the territory of the EU.
