“Freedom can only be enjoyed if the Government provides for the safety of everyday life”, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said on Hungarian M1 television’s Thursday evening current affairs programme.
“In 2010, the Cabinet began increasing the number of police, and many more criminals have been apprehended since then”, Mr. Kovács said, adding that in his opinion this is the framework in which the safety of the country can be guaranteed.
According to the Government Spokesperson, other European countries are not ensuring that they take every precaution with regard to the security challenge that the continent is facing as a result of illegal immigration.
“Hungary is, however, and it is thanks to this that according to a fresh report Hungary is the 15th safest out of the WTO’s 163 member countries”, he added.
“Security can still be assured to the most effective degree within a nation state framework, and from this perspective Hungary has acted as an example during the past seven years”, Mr. Kovács declared.
