“Distribution of the Government’s National Consultation questionnaire will begin in Budapest within a few days, and households in every settlement in the country will receive it by the end of this month”, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said on Hungarian M1 television’s Thursday evening current affairs program.
Our expectation is that as many people as possible will take part in the National Consultation, fill out the questionnaire and write down their opinions. The opinion of Hungary’s population will serve as “important ammunition” for the Government, Mr. Kovács said.
The Government Spokesperson was also asked with relation to the fact that President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and the Prime Minsters of the Visegrád Group (V4) will be holding a working lunch prior to the upcoming session of the European Council in October.
According to Mr. Kovács, the V4 have never been as strong and unified as they are now. “It is important for the voice of the V4 to be heard loudly during debates, so others understand: There exists a perspective in Central Europe that it is worth taking into account, particularly with respect to building the future of Europe”, he said.
