Every Hungarian has a right to know which generations and target groups are most at risk from the coronavirus, and which illnesses pose a particular threat from the viewpoint of the virus, Minister of State for International Communication and Relations Zoltán Kovács said in a video message on Wednesday.

The head of the cabinet’s communications task force highlighted that the purpose of the government’s extended data disclosure protocol introduced on Tuesday on the koronavirus.gov.hu website is to show everyone the “actual method and path” of the spread of the virus, and “the genuine nature of the disease, and of the problems caused by the disease”.

Statistics confirm that the virus poses a major threat to those over the age of 65 and patients suffering from chronic diseases. Therefore, it is important that persons falling into these groups should comply with the recommendations recently made and the regulations of the authorities even more accurately and cautiously, Mr Kovács pointed out.

The website now also features a diagram demonstrating the spread of the virus county by county. This clearly shows that the virus is now present everywhere in Hungary, he indicated.

Mr Kovács asked people to pay attention to the information published on the koronavirus.gov.hu website.

“Our duty is to fight every day to protect your health and slow down the spread of the virus,” he said.
