A fundamental change is taking place in Europe, the people have had enough of pro-immigration politics, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said on the Monday evening programme of the public service television news channel M1.
The issue of migration is an issue of European democracy; there is a gap between the utopian, pro-immigration concept of left-wing elites and the interests of the people. Economic immigrants must be sent back to where they came from. We must find a solution outside the borders of Europe, the government spokesperson pointed out.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, leader of the Italian Northern League (Lega Nord) government party will have talks on Tuesday in Milan. Regarding the meeting, Mr Kovács said that the two politicians will share their practical experiences related to the management of migration.
The Hungarian and Italian parties agree that migrants arriving here and staying in Europe illegally must be sent back; in Italy, for instance, more than 90 per cent of migrants are illegal migrants. Supporting immigration is a dead-end street, it is possible and necessary to take action against illegal migration, Mr Kovács pointed out.
