“The detailed results of the National Consultation on the Soros Plan will become available within the next few days in view of the fact that the questionnaires are also being processed parallel to being received”, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said on Hungarian M1 television’s Tuesday evening current affairs program.

“Based on previous consultations, it can be stated that it is usually those who agree with what the Government represents, who take the trouble to send back the questionnaires”, the Government Spokesperson said, adding: “Over a quarter of the country’s 8.2 million voters took part in the consultation”.

According to Mr. Kovács, the fact that the Government has such a democratic mandate from the people of Hungary with regard to what they should represent could already prove to be an important argument at Thursday’s “which-hunt” EP hearing. The hearing of the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE), in which Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó will participate, will be held on Thursday.

Citing the Hungarian satire “The Witness”, the Government Spokesperson said with relation to the Committee hearing: “Nobody should have any doubts, ‘the ruling has already been written in advance, Comrade Virág’, as they say; they already know what they will be including in the ‘Soros Report’ with relation to migration and the rule of law”.

“The most successful National Consultation ever came to an end last week, breaking all previous participation records”, the Government Spokesperson said at a press conference earlier on Tuesday, citing final postal statistics. 2,332,755 questionnaires were returned by the extended deadline.
