BMW’s Debrecen investment also reflects the German car manufacturer’s conviction that the city will be able to provide for the plant’s effective operation in the long term with the training of adequate experts, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said on the Tuesday evening programme of the public service television news channel M1.
He pointed out that BMW is the third German premium car manufacturer and the fifth major world brand to establish operations in Hungary.
Regarding the termination of university gender studies programmes, Mr Kovács said the state has the right to decide that there is no justification for such programmes. By his account 2 to 3 dozen students attend programmes of this kind, and therefore these training programmes make no economic sense and are not viable from a market point of view.
