Education:
- I completed my tertiary education at the Pázmány Péter Roman Catholic Theological Academy, where I received a degree in Theology in 1991, also completing a degree in sociology at the Eötvös Lóránd University in 1992. In 1996, I was appointed Honorary Associate Professor at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University and completed my PhD in 1997.

Political Career:
- In 1998, I was one of the founders of the Christian Democratic People’s Party (KDNP). I was elected Member of Parliament in 1994. Between 1998 and 200.2 I was Deputy State Secretary for Church Affairs at the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. I became party leader in 2003 and was re-elected to the post in both 2006 and 2010. On 12 January 2006, I concluded a cooperation agreement with the Chairman of Fidesz, Viktor Orbán, and was elected to the National Assembly in 2002 on the national list. In 2006, I was elected Member of Parliament for Kalocsa, where I was re-elected on 11 April 2010. Between 2006 and 2010, I was Co-Chairman of the Fidesz-KDNP parliamentary group alliance and leader of the KDNP group. I have been Minister without Portfolio for National Policy and Deputy Prime Minister since 2010.
