The Government has made public the STOP SOROS legislative package and will be submitting it for public consultation today. The aim of the bill is to enforce the will of the overwhelming majority of the Hungarian people and to ensure tough action against those who organise and finance illegal immigration.

Organisations and individuals who organise immigration are endangering Hungary’s security, and accordingly particularly strict action must be taken against them. The legislative package, which comprises three proposed pieces of legislation, would require organisations that facilitate migration to register themselves and report on their activities with relation to organising and facilitating migration. They would be required to pay a 25% duty on their foreign funding, and the resulting revenue would be spent by the Government on state border protection duties. People and organisations who finance the organisation of immigration are at least as dangerous as those who organise immigration itself, and accordingly the legislative package also includes measures aimed at them.
