“The national consultation questionnaires are being delivered to households from this Friday, including a letter from Prime Minister Viktor Orbán”, the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister’s Parliamentary State Secretary, Csaba Dömötör, told Hungarian news agency MTI.
In the letter, the Prime Minister calls on the people of Hungary to stand up for national independence and fill out the questionnaire to support the Government’s efforts to combat mistaken proposals on the part of Brussels. “The borders must be protected, and the regulation of taxes, wages and public utility charges must also remain in our hands”, the letter states amongst others, according to the information provided by the State Secretary.
The consultation questionnaire includes questions with regard to which the Government has a clear standpoint, but which also require the support of the Hungarian people to assure the assertion of national interests. Hungarian citizens have until 20 May to fill out and return the questionnaire by pre-paid post”, Mr. Dömötör said.
