Today’s resolution by the European Commissions clearly shows that Brussels is still not withdrawing its previous decision and is not withdrawing the quota package.

The quota package has three particularly dangerous elements: Firstly, Brussels would like to establish a permanent procedure for distributing immigrants among its Member States. Accordingly, it would also like to relocate thousands of immigrants to Hungary. More seriously, it is threatening to impose fines if a Member State does not wish to participate in the relocation programme. Furthermore, Brussels would also like to simplify family reunification, thus further increasing the number of relocated immigrants.

The Brussels quota package bears serious economic, cultural and security risks that we must not take upon ourselves. This is why the Government has launched a referendum.
