The government believes it is important that people in the largest possible numbers should complete the national consultation questionnaires related to the coronavirus epidemic and the restarting of the economy, the Spokesperson for the Government Communication Centre said in a video message posted on Facebook on Tuesday.
As part of the dialogue, the government would like to know which measures the Hungarian people would support in the event of a possible second wave of the epidemic, Örs Farkas stressed.
He took the view that in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic Hungary had achieved a great victory which was a joint success.
In addition to the government’s decisions, this also required the Hungarian people’s disciplined participation in the containment effort, he added.
At the same time, he warned that “we can’t sit back and relax” because according to experts the epidemic could have a second wave.
This means, he continued, that the time has come for the government to conduct a dialogue with members of the public about the possible measures.
Including to what extent the Hungarian people agree with the reinforcement of the protection of elderly care homes and the increase of Hungarian personal protective equipment production capacities, he said.
The consultation further contains questions about the economy because, in addition to protecting human lives, creating jobs is also an important consideration, Mr Farkas said in his video post.
