“As a result of the seventh amendment to the Constitution and the adoption of the ‘Stop Soros’ legislative package, Hungary’s defence system against illegal immigration has become stronger”, the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister’s Parliamentary State Secretary declared on Hungarian M1 television’s Wednesday evening current affairs program.
Csaba Dömötör also said that we cannot sit back, however: we must expect the debate on migration to be enduring in view of the fact that a strong political group wants to give the green light for immigration into Europe. “We need to stay sharp, because the resettlement quota proposal is still on the agenda in Brussels”, he warned.
“Hungary insists that only it can decide on migration-related issues”, he underlined.
Mr. Dömötör said it was a positive development that they are now paying more attention to what the Hungarian Prime Minister says abroad than during previous left-wing governments.
